Book of the Month – July

by | 13 Jul 2022 | Book of the Month, Monthly Reviews, Parenting support

The Explosive Child by Dr Ross Greene is a must read for parents who have children with complex behaviours. Dr Greene’s well known slogan is “Kids Do Well If They Can” and his Collaborative & Proactive Solutions approach is used extensively to help support children who are struggling with behavioural challenges due to unmet needs, and lagging skills. He believes that behaviours arise when expectations, and environmental demands, are too much for the child. His approach targets this mismatch, encouraging parents and professionals to show empathy, and to work with the child collaboratively to problem solve and find solutions that work for everyone.

Once you have read one of Dr Greene’s books, you will want to read more. He has a great website too at:

www.livesinthebalance.org

We have therapists trained in his CPS approach so please contact us if you would like more information.
