The Kaleidoscope Way
Child-led
A child-led approach honors the child’s innate drive to learn, fosters curiosity, promotes collaboration and problem solving and helps to establish a trusting relationship. Allowing choice also leads to increased attention, motivation and task persistence.
Family-Focused
Our approach is first and foremost warm and caring. We are respectful, ethical and empathetic. We listen, value parental input and work hand-in-hand with families.
Strength-Based
A strength-based model of support incorporates the child’s strengths into therapy and uses these strengths to scaffold less developed skills as this increases motivation, builds confidence and provides more opportunities for success.
Who is it for
Our program is designed to benefit children aged between 3-6 years who are facing challenges such as:
- Peer Interaction
- Language development & communication skills
- Sensory processing, e.g poor attention, restless, distracted
- Managing emotions, e.g.withdrawn, volatile, anxious, or gets angry easily
- Fine motor skills and handwriting
- Academic skills and school readiness
Our classes are designed for children from local and international mainstream schools. We offer an intensive
program to address the child’s difficulties and aim to return them to the mainstream class as soon as possible, usually within 6-9 months. In mild cases, 3 months may be sufficient.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What information is essential when considering an intervention for my child?
When contemplating an intervention for your child, it’s beneficial to compile all pertinent medical and developmental information. This could encompass any diagnoses, developmental milestones, concerns flagged by paediatricians or teachers, and personal observations about your child’s behaviour or development. Armed with this information, our Kaleidoscope Therapy Centre team can better understand your child’s unique circumstances and devise a tailored intervention plan.
What constitutes an Early Intervention Program and how can it assist my child?
An Early Intervention Program is specifically designed to aid children with developmental delays or disabilities. Our programs at Kaleidoscope Therapy Centre aim to augment children’s cognitive, social, and physical abilities. By intervening at an early stage, we equip your child with strategies and therapies that support their development, minimising the effects of their developmental concerns over time.
What are the advantages of early childhood intervention for my child?
Early childhood intervention can have substantial benefits for your child by addressing developmental delays or disabilities at a young age. Such programs foster the growth of cognitive, speech, motor, and social-emotional skills. Early intervention also prepares children for school, enhances future learning potential, and expands their capacity for independent living.
What services can my child avail at an Early Intervention Centre like Kaleidoscope Therapy Centre?
At Kaleidoscope Therapy Centre, we offer your child an array of services customised to their distinct needs. These encompass speech therapy, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, and psychological services. Our team of proficient professionals collaboratively create a comprehensive early intervention program that nurtures your child’s development in a compassionate, supportive atmosphere.
Where can I obtain more information about my child's early intervention needs?
Your child’s paediatrician, who can provide a thorough developmental evaluation, is a good starting point. Moreover, the team at Kaleidoscope Therapy Centre is always at hand to discuss our early intervention programs. Post an initial evaluation, we can furnish detailed information about your child’s needs and recommend the most appropriate intervention services.
Is it possible to implement Early Intervention Program strategies at home?
Indeed, it is. An integral part of the early intervention program is equipping parents and caregivers with the skills to reinforce therapy strategies at home. This reinforcement at home can expedite progress and ensure that your child fully benefits from the intervention. Our therapists will impart specific guidance tailored to your child’s needs and your home setting.
How can I monitor my child's advancement in the Early Intervention Program?
How do early intervention services at Kaleidoscope Therapy Centre differ from other intervention programmes?
We provide daily speech and occupational therapy in small group settings, whereby most services only provide weekly input.
We also have a physiotherapist as part of the team for those children who need it, as well as music from a specialist twice per month.
Our ratio of students to teachers is also only 1:2, meaning that there is a teacher, teaching assistant or therapist for every 2 children. This gives the children the support they need.
What role do parents play in the assessment process for the Early Intervention Program?
Parents play a crucial role in the assessment process for the Early Intervention Program (EIP). The involvement of parents is essential for a comprehensive understanding of the child’s development and to create an effective intervention plan. Here are several ways in which parents contribute to the assessment process:
Providing Developmental History:-Parents are often asked to provide detailed information about their child’s developmental history, including milestones, behaviors, and any concerns they may have observed. This information helps in understanding the child’s strengths and areas of need.
Sharing Concerns:-Parents are encouraged to express any concerns they may have regarding their child’s development. These concerns, along with parental observations, contribute to the overall assessment and guide the development of intervention strategies.
Observation of Parent-Child Interaction:-Professionals may observe parent-child interactions to gain insights into the child’s behavior, communication style, and social interactions within a familiar environment. This observation helps in understanding the child’s functioning within the family context.
Setting Goals and Priorities:-Parents collaborate with the intervention team to set goals and priorities for the child’s development. This collaborative process ensures that the intervention plan aligns with the family’s values, priorities, and cultural considerations.
Participating in Team Meetings:-Parents are often invited to participate in team meetings where assessment results are discussed, and intervention plans are developed. This collaborative approach ensures that the family’s input is considered in the decision-making process.
Implementing Home-Based Strategies:-Intervention strategies are not limited to therapy sessions. Parents are integral in implementing home-based strategies and activities recommended by the intervention team. Consistency across home and intervention settings enhances the child’s progress.
Advocating for Their Child:-Parents serve as advocates for their child, ensuring that their unique needs and strengths are considered in the intervention process. They collaborate with professionals to make informed decisions about the child’s care and development.
The involvement of parents in the assessment process not only provides valuable information about the child’s abilities and challenges but also empowers parents to actively participate in their child’s early intervention journey. This collaborative approach is essential for the success of early intervention programs and the overall well-being of the child.
Are there workshops or training sessions available for parents to better understand early intervention services?
