Margaret Shaw

Hi, my name is Margaret. I’m a Speech and Language Therapist from London, England. I qualified in 2003 with a BSc in Speech Sciences from University College London.

I spent 10 years in the National Health Service before moving to Singapore in 2014 to work in a private paediatric clinic.
What I love most about being a speech therapist are the times I see or hear a child do or say something for the first time. It’s amazing to see the child’s reaction as well as their parents’ delight.

My experience in the UK was with pre-school and school aged children in special schools, mainstream schools, community clinics and a child development centre. I worked with children with speech and language delay and those with a variety of complex needs including global developmental delay, autistic spectrum disorder, cerebral palsy and Down syndrome.
