Can I Tell You About Sensory Processing Difficulties? by Sue Allen

This is a wonderful little book that helps children, and parents alike, understand why some children react differently to certain sensory experiences in their daily lives. It is narrated by a fictional child with sensory differences. The book helps children to recognise and understand what is happening in their bodies, and why they react as they do to sensations that don’t seem to bother others. Giving children the language to explain what they are feeling, and what can be done to support them, is so important in helping them to feel respected, listened to, and understood.

The book was written by the amazing Sue, who we were lucky to have as part of the Kaleidoscope team for five years. She is currently a senior lecturer in occupational therapy in the UK.

Sue’s book is available here at Kaleidoscope, Amazon, or at Waterstones on-line book store
